About Me

I'm a certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor and work in various gyms in the area and also do personal training out of my home or in clients' homes. I hover around 120 pounds these days but it certainly wasn't always that way. At the age of 11 I maxed out at around 210 pounds! The road to weight loss and personal fitness has been a long and arduous one so I can empathize with anyone who's traveling on that road now. Because I didn't know what I was doing back then and didn't really have anybody to help me I did some pretty unhealthy things - how does a diet of tuna fish and oranges sound? Just knowing all the things I did wrong helps me to help people make good decisions about their path to fitness!

I'm a mother of a 25 year old son and worked as a cook for 15 years before working as a personal trainer so I know a lot about what to eat and not to eat. I understand how difficult it is to maintain a healthy weight - as they say we can look at food and put on weight - but focusing on diet and fitness together makes it so much easier. I am happy to pass on to you the things that I've learned over the years. To the right is a picture of me involved in my latest passion, Barre Intense!, a fusion of Ballet Barre, Pilates and traditional exercise - click on the picture to find out more.

Ever since I took my first Pilates class I've been fascinated by its potential as an exercise discipline so it tends to influence a lot of the things I do. That doesn't mean, however, that I don't love to give my all in a group fitness class or push my muscles to burning point when I'm lifting. I can be graceful or jumpy, understanding or aggressive, humorous or stern (stern not too often!) - it's dealing with all the different people and their different problems and situations that makes me LOVE what I do!
